Sex offenders on a Map? New free website shows you sex offenders on a map
Now there is a free tool that informs you of sex offenders in your area. MapSexOffenders.com is a user friendly site that combines Google’s map technology and the National sex offenders’ database. Currently this site has mapped sex offenders in 37 states with the goal of mapping all 50 states as soon as possible.
There are many different kinds of sex offender registries on the internet, but many of them may be difficult to find, use, understand and some of these registries charge a fee. MapSexOffenders.com does not charge a fee and is easy to use and view. Each sex offender is highlighted on a map at their location. Once there you can access the nature and severity of the offender’s crimes. You can even zoom in to view the offender and find their current address. This map also links to the offender’s state registry where you can view additional information on them such as driving offenses and possible convictions.
What a great way for parents, grandparents and all concerned citizens to make sure that their neighborhood is safe for children. To get started viewing this site go to the MapSexOffender site.
